Before the Yorkie chocolate bar existed Rowntree's wanted to create a simple chocolate bar that could compete with Mars and Cadbury candies at the time. Rowntree's went through multiple variations of the soon to be Yorkie bar, including an interesting plot in marketing it as “not for girls”. Now owned by Nestlke UK, they have dropped the girls only and just focus on this delectable chocolate bars yummy goodness.
