Brownie Root Beer was produced by the Atlas Beverage Company around 1929.
Atlas Beverage started in Detroit, Michigan by Polish immigrant Walter Tomaszewski.
They bottled and sold a variety of sodas which included Brownie Caramel Cream Root Beer, Bulldog Ginger Beer, and flavors like Cream, Strawberry and Club Sodas.
The bottles were available in cases and were sold to local homes and businesses.
When the founder of Atlas, Walter, retired he passed the company to his sons, Butch and Leonard. Together they ran the business until Leonard retired with Butch buying out his share and continuing on until the close of the plant sometime around 1996.
Sadly, the building and property was sold around 2003 then later demolished to make room for a local strip mall.
